Rava masala dosa

I always look for new dishes or recipes which i can prepare for breakfast. New addition in my list is rava masala dosa. It is popular south Indian dish. It is delicious and a good option for breakfast. Crispy  rava masala dosa stuffed with potato. You can also prepare it without stuffing potatoes in it. It will taste equally good.

Servings: Makes 5-6 dosa

Ingredients:

Rava or sooji: 1 cup

Rice flour: 1 cup

Maida: 1/2 cup

Salt: to taste

Oil: for cooking dosa

Water: 2-3 cups

Coriander: 1 tbsp chopped

For tempering:

Oil: 1 tbsp

Rai or mustard seeds: 2 tsp

Curry leaves: 4-5

Heeng:  a pinch

Green chili: 1 chopped

Onion: 1 chopped

Ginger: 1 tsp grated

Cumin seeds or jeera: 1 tsp

Black pepper: 1 tsp

Method:

1. Mix sooji, rice flour, maida, salt and mix well. Add two and half cups of water and mix well. Keep the mixture thin

2. Add chopped coriander, mix and keep it aside for half an hour.

3. For tempering heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and add jeera, rai, heeng, curry leaves. When they starts to crackle add ginger, onion, green chili and saute for a minute. Add black pepper and mix . Our tempering is ready.

4. Add this tempering to sooji mix and mix well.

5. Heat a non stick tawa. Pour a laddle full of mixture from top so that small holes will be made in dosa. Spread the mixture.

6. Cook from both sides till golden brown.

7. Serve with coconut chutney.
