Aloo paratha

Aloo ka paratha needs no introduction.It is the most popular Indian breakfast especially of north India.Aloo paratha is paratha stuffed with spicy potatoes.Today i have stuffing of potatoes along with onions,coriander leaves and some spices.Here’s the recipe of yummmy parathas.

Serving:2(makes 5 parathas)

For stuffing-

Potatoes:3-4 medium sized

Onions:1(finely chopped)

Coriander leaves:2tbsp(finely chopped)

Ginger:1tbsp(grated ginger)

Green chiilies:1(finely chopped)

Salt:to taste

Red chilli powder:1tsp

Jeera powder:1/2 tsp

Amchur powder:1/2tsp

Garam masala:1/4tspthem

For dough-

Wheat flour:1 cup

Water:as required for making smooth dough

Oil :for frying parathas


1.Boil potatoes .Let them cool ;peel them and mash them well.

2.Add chopped onions,coriander,chilies,ginger.Add all spices.

3.Mix it well.Divide the whole mixture into five equal portions by giving them shape of ball.

4.Make dough by mixing wheat flour and water.Make a dough like chapatis.Keep dough aside for half an hour to settle down at room temperature.

5.Divide dough into five equal portions and make smooth ball.

6.Roll the dough using rolling pin.Roll into 4 inch diameter.

7.Place potato stuffing in middle at wrap all sides.Again give shape of ball.

8.Dust some flour on roll and start rolling it .Roll into circle of diameter of 6 inch. Don’t make them too thin.

9.Heat tawa and place rolled paratha on it.Flip it and cook other side as well.

10.Apply desi ghee on both sides and cook till both layers become golden brown.

11.Serve hot by placing butter over it.Have these delicious parathas with achaar curd.
