Dosa is a staple food of south India.It is made from fermented batter of rice and dhuli urad dal(split black gram skinless). Dosa has high protein and carbohydrates . Dosa is mainly stuffed with poatato and onion filling.But instead of filling it with regular aloo or potato sabji i had tried something new for filling. I had used capsicum , corn and mayonnaise filling for dosa.
Servings: Makes 8-10 dosa
Ingredients:
For dosa
Rice: 3 cups
Dhuli urad dal: 1 cup
Methi dana or fenugreek seeds:1 tsp
Salt:1 tsp
Oil : for cooking dosa
For filling:
Corn boiled: 1 cup
Capsicum:2 chopped
Onions: 2 chopped
Tomato: 3chopped
Black pepper:1 tsp
Salt:to taste
Mayonnaise: 1 tbsp
Method:
1.Wash rice and soak them in water for 3-4 hours.
Wash dal and soak it in another vessel for 3-4 hours.Also add fenugreek or methi seeds to dal.
2.Drain water and grind rice in a blender till soft.
3.Drain water and grind urad dal and methi seeds .Add some water and grind .Grind till batter becomes soft and fluffy.
4.Now mix both rice and dal batter by adding more water.Mix with hands.Batter should not be very thick nor very thin.
5..Now transfer this batter in large vessel and place it overnite to ferment.Add salt to the mixture.
6.For filling mix all ingredients in a bowl .Add mayonnaise.
7.For making dosa heat a nonstick tawa . Grease it with oil ,add ladle full of batter in circular way.
8.Pour some oil around dosa and cook till it gets golden brown colour.
9. Place corn filling in the centre and fold the dosa.
10. Serve it with tomato ketchup.
