I always wanted to cook different types of biryanis as i love rice. This is my first post in biryanis section. Kabuli chana biryani is delicious rice recipe with a wonderful aroma. Here’s the recipe of kabulichana biryani.
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
Basmati rice: 1 cup
Kabulichana: about 1/2 cup
Onions: 2 slicedt into
Potatoes: 2 boiled and cut into cubes
Chole masala: 2 tbsp
Salt: to taste
Green cardamoms: 3-4
Cloves or laung: 2-3
Bay leaves: 2
Saffron : few strands
Milk: 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves: 3 tbsp
Red chilli powder: 1/2 tsp
Jeera powder: 1/4 tsp
Tea leaves: 1 tbsp
Oil: 2 tbsp
Ginger- garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Green chilli: 1 chopped
Yogurt or dahi: 1/4 cup
Mint leaves: 10-12
Method:
1. Soak kabulichana overnight. Drain water and pressure cook with 2 cups of water by adding tea leaves in a muslin cloth. Drain excess water and also remove tea bag.
2. In another pan boil 2 cups of water with cloves, bay leaves and green cardamom. Cook rice till three fourth done and drain the excess water.
3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a kadai. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute. Add sliced onions and saute for 2 minutes. Add cholay masala, red chili powder, salt and green chillis. Add boiled chana, potatoes and mix well. Add curd and mix it well.
4. Mix saffron with milk.
5.To cooked rice add mint leaves, coriander, and mix gently.
6.Grease a baking dish. Spread rice layer first then spread kabuli chana mix over it. Again repeat the same process. Spread saffron milk over it.
7. Cook in microwave for 5 minutes.
8. Serve hot and enjoyyyy.
