Moong-chana dal pakori is a spicy pakori which we usually serve as a side dish in main course. I also used chana dal . This is my mother’s recipe and i tried to make crispy and spicy pakoris as my mother used to made.
Mooong dhuli: 1 cup
Chana dal: 1/2 cup
Dry powdered coriander: 1 tsp
Salt: to taste
Dried red chilli powdered: 1/2 tsp
Garam masala: 1/4 tsp
Heeng or asafoetida: a pinch
Green chilli: 1 finely chopped
Ginger: 1 tsp paste
Black pepper: 1/4 tsp
Oil: for deep frying
1.Wash and soak moong dal and chana dala in water for 3-4 hours. Drain the water and put dals in grinder. Also add green chilli and ginger to it. Grind them to smooth paste.
2. Add salt red chilli powder, garam masala , black pepper, dry coriander powder, heeng and mix it well.
3. Heat oil in a kadai and put spoonfull of batter to it. Fry these pakoris till they become golden brown in colour and crispy.
4.Place them on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
5.Serve them with green chutney and imli chutney.
