Raita is very refreshing during summers. They are popular across India especially in North India. One of the easiest raita recipe is boondi raita . Boondi is fried gram flour balls. They can be made at home but i purchased it from market as i want to save my time. Raita is generally accompanied with pulaos, parathas etc. Generally people used to soak boondi in water but i like crunchiness of boondi so i didn’t soak them in water and just added it to raita before serving it. But here i am presenting both methods.
Ingredients:
Curd : 1 cup
Boondi : 1/2 cup
Salt: to taste
Red chilli powder: 1/4 tsp
Jeera powder: 1/4 tsp
Chaat masala : 1/4 tsp
Rock salt: 1/4 tsp
Green chilli: 1 chopped
Coriander : 1 tsp chopped
Method:
1. Soak boondi in water for 4-5 minutes and then drain the water. Lightly squeeze out the water but don’t crush them.
Also if you want crunchiness in boondi don’t soak them, just add them before serving raita.
2. Whisk yogurt in a bowl. Add all the spices, chopped coriander and mix well.
3. Add boondi, mix well and serve.
For crunch add boondi as it is without soaking.
4. Serve it with pulao and enjoy.
