Coconut chutney is an integral part of south Indian cusine.It goes with idli,dosa ,vada.I had used fresh coconut and given it tempering of spices.

Ingredients:
Coconut :1 cup grated(fresh coconut)
Chana dal:2tsp
Coriander:2tsp
Tamarind pulp:2tsp
Salt:to taste
Dried red chilli:1
Oil:2tsp
Mustard seeds:1/4tsp
Curry leaves:7-8
Hing or asafoetida:a pinch
Method:
1.Add grated coconut,half curry leaves,coriander,roasted chana dal in a blender with little water and blend it.
2.Heat oil a pan.Add mustard seeds,when they start to crackle add dried chilli,tamarind pulp hing,curry leaves,salt.
3.Pour this tempering over coconut chutney.
4.Serve this chutney with idli ,dosa .
